Nation19 is a visual anthropology and media collective founded in 2010 by Los Angeles natives Hakeem Khaaliq and Queen Muhammad Ali. With two locations, and headquartered in American Samoa, Nation19 creates films, exhibitions, publications, and educational projects rooted in indigenous research and cultural preservation. Their work has been featured at the Museum of Modern Art, the British Film Institute, and the United Nations General Assembly (UNGASS), and includes award‑winning projects such as #Bars4Justice, Comin’ Up Short, Invisible Mexico, and the Nation19/APDTA™ magazine series.
