Exhibits & Installations

Nation19’s exhibition work began with the award‑winning Invisible Mexico, a groundbreaking installation documenting Black Mexico through a collection of photographs shot by Hakeem Khaaliq. Featured in Ebony magazine and funded by the Arizona Commission on the Arts, it was recognized as the first augmented‑reality art exhibit in the state of Arizona and was hailed as the best art installation of 2017. Invisible Mexico has since toured and been installed in multiple cities across the United States.

Nation19 expanded its curatorial practice with Turn Up Denver, an immersive exhibition exploring the UFO phenomenon through multimedia storytelling, and Exhibit 19, a presentation highlighting the global Black presence. The first installment of Exhibit 19 was presented by the late Dr. Runoko Rashidi and produced by Nation19, establishing the series as a significant contribution to diasporic historical interpretation.

The collective’s exhibition work also includes Manuia Samoa, a multimedia presentation examining hidden ancient civilizations of the Pacific through physical artifacts, photography, and video. The exhibit was hosted in Nashville, Tennessee by the Global Education Center in 2022, and further demonstrated Nation19’s work in cultural preservation and indigenous research.
